Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
Travel Privacy Guard (the “App”) is provided by Just Simple Style (“we,” “us,” or “our”). The App helps users perform structured room privacy checks, review nearby device clues, and save local reports. This policy explains what the App accesses, where information is stored, when information can leave the device, and what choices users have.
2. Local-first report content
The App does not require a developer account and does not upload room reports, notes, evidence photos, Wi-Fi information, Bluetooth scan results, magnetic readings, PIN data, or other report content to our servers. Advertising and analytics services are handled separately as described in Section 5 and are not intended to receive the contents of your room reports.
3. Information the App accesses on your device
3.1 Room checks, reports, and evidence
The App stores room type, checklist status, notes, scan status, timestamps, locally derived risk guidance, and evidence images that you explicitly choose to save. This content is stored in app-private local storage.
3.2 Camera and flashlight
The camera is used only when you open the guided manual lens-sweep feature. The preview is processed on your device. An image is saved only when you explicitly choose to capture an evidence frame. The flashlight may be controlled during this user-initiated check.
3.3 Bluetooth and nearby devices
When you start a BLE scan and grant the required permission, the App may display nearby device names, device addresses, signal strength, and the labels you assign. These details may be saved in a local report.
3.4 Wi-Fi and local network information
When you start a Wi-Fi check and grant the required permission, the App may read the current network name (SSID), access-point identifier (BSSID), local IP address, gateway, signal information, and details about reachable devices on the same local network. The scan is limited to the local network and its results are stored only on your device. On Android 12 and earlier, Android may require a location permission for Wi-Fi or Bluetooth visibility. The App does not request geographic coordinates or create a location history.
3.5 Magnetic sensor
The App may read the device magnetometer to show baseline, current, and peak measurements. These readings can be saved in a local report. Magnetic changes are only supporting clues and may come from ordinary objects.
3.6 PIN and biometrics
If you enable a PIN, the App stores a random salt and a derived PIN hash rather than the raw PIN. Android handles biometric authentication. The App does not receive or store fingerprint or facial templates.
4. Google Play purchases
Optional Lifetime Pro purchases are processed by Google Play. Google may process purchase, account, device, and payment information under Google’s own terms and privacy policy. The App receives purchase status and a purchase token from Google Play so it can acknowledge a purchase and unlock local features. The current version does not send purchase tokens to our servers and does not store payment-card information.
5. Advertising and analytics
The release version of the App uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to display advertising and Google Analytics for Firebase to understand app usage and improve the product.
Google Mobile Ads may automatically collect and share information such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, interactions with the App and ads, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers, including the Android advertising ID when available. Google may use this information for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention.
Google Analytics for Firebase may collect an app-instance identifier, advertising ID when available, approximate location derived from a masked IP address, app lifecycle and screen-view events, device and app information, and information about in-app purchases. We do not intentionally send report notes, evidence photos, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth scan results, magnetic readings, PIN data, or other room-report content as advertising or analytics events.
Advertising and analytics data is processed by Google under Google’s terms and privacy policy and is encrypted in transit. Where required, the App will present consent or privacy options before requesting ads or enabling relevant processing. Available Android advertising controls may also let you reset or delete the advertising ID.
6. User-initiated export, import, and feedback
You may export report data as a JSON file through the Android share sheet. The export can include room-report metadata, notes, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth clues, and magnetic readings. Evidence image files are not included in the JSON export. The destination you select may apply its own privacy policy.
You may import a JSON backup that you explicitly select through Android’s system file picker. The App reads the selected file only to preview and import supported report data.
The feedback action opens your email application. No message is sent unless you choose to compose and send it. Email content and attachments are handled by your email provider.
7. Storage, retention, and deletion
Reports, evidence images, PIN state, and preferences remain in app-private storage until you delete them or uninstall the App. You can delete an individual report or clear all local reports and evidence from the App’s settings. Deleting a report also deletes evidence images attached to that report. Android cloud backup and device transfer are disabled for reports, evidence, and security settings.
Files you export to another app or storage location are controlled by you and are not removed when you delete the original report from Travel Privacy Guard.
Advertising and analytics information is retained and deleted according to Google’s service settings and policies. Deleting local room reports does not automatically delete information already processed by Google Mobile Ads or Google Analytics.
8. Security and limitations
We use Android app-private storage, block screenshots and insecure-display capture, and provide optional PIN and supported biometric access controls. The PIN controls access through the App UI; it does not separately encrypt the Room database or evidence image files. No security method is guaranteed to prevent every form of unauthorized access. Keep your device and Android version up to date and protect access to any exported files.
The App is an inspection assistant, not a safety guarantee. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, camera reflections, and magnetic readings may be incomplete or may identify ordinary electronics. Do not confront another person or damage property based only on an App result.
9. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through developer-operated services.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App’s features, SDKs, or data practices change. We will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes should also be reflected in the Google Play Data Safety section and, where appropriate, in the App.
